South Carolina's Most Cited OSHA Standards

Top 10 Most Cited Standards

The S.C. OSHA office has compiled a list of the 10 most cited standards in calendar year 2010 to make employers and employees more aware of the common hazards found in the workplace.

OSHA compiled three lists: the most cited standards in general industry; the most cited standards in construction; and the most cited standards in all industries.

“Awareness is key to having a safe and healthy worksite,” OSHA Administrator Dottie Ison said.

To further increase awareness, Ison invites employers to take advantage of the free training offered by the South Carolina Office of OSHA Voluntary Programs. The Office provides a variety of free training programs and presentations designed to reduce or eliminate safety and health hazards in the workplace. Training is available to employers and employees of both the public and private sector upon request and may be presented on-site (requiring participation of 12 or more employees) or as a result of participating in one of the regional training programs coordinated by the training staff.

A tentative list of classes in 2011 is provided below. Dates and locations are subject to change. Please check back for updates. For more information, call the office at (803) 896-7769 or email Van Henson.
